Orlando Stadium, Soweto

Orlando Stadium was originally built in 1959. It is a training venue for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. On the 3rd May 2006 Johannesburg's Executive Mayor (Amos Masondo) announced that the City had set R200 million aside for the upgrading of the Orlando Stadium in anticipation of the 2010 Soccer World Cup. As part of the upgrade, the stadium's capacity is being increased from 24 000 to 40 000.
