Tunisia's coach is Frenchman Lemerre, who was sacked by France after it crashed out of the 2002 tournament, has drawn criticism in Tunisia for relying heavily on foreign-based players and playing too defensively.
Before the Soccer World Cup 2006, the Tunisian federation extended Lemerre's contract for another two years to include the 2008 African Cup of Nations, with an option to continue until the Soccer World Cup 2010.
